Murray Weinstein

Murray Weinstein is a contemporary abstract artist whose work explores balance, symmetry, rhythm, and the emotional power of color. Influenced by artists such as Piet Mondrian, Gerhard Richter, and Peter Max, Weinstein creates geometric compositions that reduce painting to its essential elements while maintaining a strong sense of movement and vitality. Though minimal in structure, his paintings reveal subtle brushwork and intuitive energy, allowing color and form to extend beyond the boundaries of the canvas and evoke a sense of infinity.

Before turning fully to painting, Weinstein spent his career as a printing company executive, working closely with leading artists, art directors, and New York advertising agencies. His deep understanding of color was shaped through decades of experience with the Pantone Matching System and the psychological impact of subtle tonal variation. This background informs what he describes as “compatible contrasting color,” a concept central to his artistic process. Moving from traditional representation toward hard-edge geometric abstraction, Weinstein’s work reflects both technical precision and instinctive visual rhythm.
