About the Artist
Bettina Kochinke is a German-born contemporary mixed-media abstract artist whose work explores the tension between spontaneity and intention. Working between Florida and Utah, she combines fluid acrylics, collage, typography, spray paint, street-art influences, and layered resin. Her process begins with organic movement and intuitive mark-making, which she then interrupts, conceals, and redefines to create richly layered compositions that balance control and chance, refinement and rawness.
Formally trained in traditional Old Master oil-painting techniques at the Linda Schroeter Atelier of Fine Art in California, Kochinke brings a strong classical foundation to her energetic contemporary practice. Her polished, glass-like surfaces contrast with expressive gestures, symbols, and urban references, inviting personal interpretation and repeated discovery. Winner of the 2026 Art Hollywood juried competition in Fort Lauderdale, she creates visually dynamic works that bridge technical discipline with experimentation, curiosity, and emotional impact.
