Glass Bowl(Blue accents)

Organic Bowl in Blue began the way my best work always does — with instinct rather than a blueprint. I build these strip by strip, laying clear glass in flowing, organic ribbons, letting each layer whisper what comes next rather than following any rigid plan. At irregular intervals I tuck in pieces of deep cobalt blue — like the dark hollows you catch beneath a breaking wave — present, but never competing with the clarity around them. Then the whole piece surrenders to the kiln, and honestly, that's my favorite part. I've done this for over 30 years and I still hold my breath a little. The glass softens and finds what it wants to become — a vessel that curves and reaches and opens, its edges unresolved on purpose, caught somewhere between wave and wind. The gaps between the strips aren't empty to me. They hold light. They breathe. They're the reason I keep making this series, because no two pieces ever come out the same way twice, and every single one reminds me of the ocean I grew up loving. This bowl is not something I made so much as something I coaxed into being.
