About the Artist

Although she spent three decades managing art galleries, painting has always remained her true vocation. A pivotal moment in Cancro’s practice occurred after a conversation with a group of young people, including one who was blind. This experience inspired a shift toward organic, tactile surfaces that invite touch as well as sight. By incorporating texture and dimensional materials, she creates work that engages multiple senses, making art more accessible and intimate. Her practice explores the intersection of vision and touch, encouraging deeper emotional connection and embodied experience through form, surface, and material presence.
