Ryan Appel
Pressure II
Pressure II continues the conversation through a smaller, more concentrated form. Reclaimed cherry and maple are brought together and unified beneath a black surface, allowing their different histories to disappear visually while remaining physically present. The form suggests a figure under tension without defining exactly what that figure is experiencing. Like all works in the series, it is intentionally one of a kind—the material and the process determine where the conversation ultimately ends.
