About the Artist
Christian Guerin, born in 1953, is a French artist raised in an immersive creative environment by his grandmother, Berthe Camméo, a renowned twentieth-century painter trained at the School of Fine Arts. Originally from Saint Paul de Vence, the historic artists’ village in southeastern France, Guerin grew up surrounded by art and imagination. Now based in Weston, Florida, he describes himself not as an artist, but as an assembler and composer, merging painting, sculpture, and collage into singular, provocative works.
Working with oil, acrylic, resin, and bronze, Guerin creates vibrant assemblages that both delight and challenge the viewer. His paintings often incorporate three-dimensional bronze figures—painters or children interacting with the canvas—introducing playful narratives unseen in contemporary art. Bright color, unconventional materials, and imaginative composition define his style, from bubble-wrap portraits to romantic sculptural motifs. Exhibited in the United States and France, his works are marked with a distinctive wax seal, underscoring a practice driven by curiosity, collaboration, and boundless creative freedom.
